Duchess has been adopted!

We've been trying to get a really good photo of Duchess, but are not sure it's even possible. She is a plain looking dog and she is so disheartened after having been in our kennels for months that she barely holds her head up any more. Duchess is a good dog. Never a bit of trouble from her. She was raised with children (and really misses them). Her family didn't allow her in the house ... so as she grew up in the back yard, they lost interest in her. Soon she was just an extra expense so it was easy to get rid of her. That seems to be the story of her life ... overlooked at home and now overlooked at our shelter. It's hard for a 3 year old black dog to compete with the puppies and purebred dogs. When we introduce her to visitors she promptly gives them a lick on the face. That's all she has to offer. We hope it will be enough.
