There are many ways you can help PETSinc… and every bit of help is significant. Everything matters when it comes to helping furbabies find great furever homes where they can live their best lives loved, safe, and secure! Below are some suggestions.

EMPLOYER MATCHES

Some employers will double your donation with a matching gift!  This increases the impact, boosts employee satisfaction, and exposes the company as being  a charitable supporter of animal welfare. This also includes volunteer hours (projects, team-building) and donations (payroll matches, peer-to-peer challenges, supply drives, etc) Request a matching donation form from your employer and email it to Penelope at giving@petsinc.org

SUPPLY DRIVES

When supplies are donated, it helps us put financial resources directly toward the care of the animals instead. Many individuals, schools, civic groups, and businesses in the community host supply drives based on suggestions from our Wish List.

DONATIONS TO THRIFT AVENUE THRIFT STORE

Bring us your unwanted housewares, furniture, games, jewelry, clothing, shoes, sporting goods, books and anything else that is gently used, clean and in good condition and we’ll turn them into hope and good health for a stray or abandoned animal. Our thrift store is located at 1217 Sunset Boulevard, DC 29169.

We don’t always have the manpower to pick up donated items, so if you are not able to bring them, please contact us by phone or e-mail. We will do our best to pick them up. Let us know if you are a collector, we’ll contact you when an item becomes available.

VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME

Volunteers are what make PETSinc function.  They are some of our greatest assets.  Due to insurance requirements, all volunteers must first complete a MANDATORY Safety and Animal Handling Class before beginning their volunteer work.  No one under 18 years of age may volunteer without adult supervision. Minors between the ages of 10-17 may volunteer under the direct supervision of their parent(s) or guardian(s) after attending the MANDATORY Safety and Handling Class with their parent or guardian. A parent or guardian MUST be present with minors at all times.

PETSinc accepts volunteers who need PTI/AEP/Court Ordered community service hours to complete pretrial intervention, alcohol education or similar programs. Restrictions are required.  More details here https://petsinc.org/volunteer/

FOSTERING

Our fostering program is limited to our medically/emotionally needy pets who are under the care of our vet staff who need a safe, quiet place to heal on their journey to recovery for adoption.  For more information about fostering, please click here.

ENGRAVED BRICKS AND BENCHES

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES

PEER-TO-PEER CHALLENGES

Who doesn’t love a fun challenge?  Your team, civic group, work group, neighborhood, family, school group, book club, community group, church group, business group – the possibilities are endless – can create a challenge to raise funds or supplies and awareness on behalf of PETSinc.  We can help with a P2P webpage, logos, style guide, and more.  Promote and have fun on your social media accounts and through other ways of getting the word out, tag PETSinc, then come by the adoption center to celebrate your success with us!  We’ll take pictures and promote your big accomplishment with our thanks on our socials!  For more details, please contact Penelope@petsinc.org.  For logos usage and style guide, please contact media@petsinc.org.
